The abbot and local leaders received the decision to restore the pagoda from the Religious Affairs Committee - Department of Home Affairs.

Hong Phuc Pagoda in Nghi Long Commune, Nghi Loc District, is an ancient pagoda. However, through the ups and downs of history and the devastation of war, the pagoda has been damaged, degraded and lost some valuable artifacts. Currently, the pagoda only has the foundation, objects and evidence of an ancient pagoda. To meet the spiritual and religious needs of monks and Buddhists near and far and to restore the original value of Hong Phuc Pagoda, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 129/QD-UBND-NC dated January 10, 2013 on approving the restoration of the Buddhist facility (Hong Phuc Pagoda). In early April 2014, the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An Province made an official decision to appoint Venerable Thich Chau Phong as abbot of the pagoda.

At the Grand Ceremony, the 2014 Buddha's Birthday ceremony also took place. Monks and delegates, along with hundreds of monks, nuns, and Buddhists, participated in chanting Buddha's name to pray for peace and prosperity for the family, offered flowers to congratulate Buddha's Birthday, performed incense offering and flower offering rituals to the Buddha's bed, performed the traditional Buddha bathing ceremony, released balloons and doves to pray for national peace and prosperity.

On this occasion, Hong Phuc Pagoda coordinated with Nghi Long Commune People's Committee to present 15 gifts to poor but excellent students at Nghi Long Commune Primary and Secondary School, each gift worth 350,000 VND.
