From January 23 to 27, the Northern and North Central provinces will experience widespread cold spells, with the possibility of frost and snow in mountainous areas.

The Standing Office of the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Office of the National Committee for Search and Rescue has just sent a telegram to the Command Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of the provinces and cities in the Northern coastal region from Quang Ninh to Ca Mau; the Command Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, National Defense, and Transport.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of very strong cold air, from January 22, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea off the coast of the Central and Southern provinces, the entire East Sea (including the sea areas of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos) will have strong northeast winds of level 6-8, gusting to level 9-10, very rough seas, waves 3-5m high.

From January 23 to 27, the Northern and North Central provinces will experience widespread severe cold, with the possibility of frost and snow in mountainous areas. To proactively cope with severe cold and strong winds at sea, the Standing Office of the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the Office of the National Committee for Search and Rescue recommends that the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of the Northern and North Central provinces closely monitor the developments of severe cold; provide guidance and notification to authorities at all levels and people to ensure safety for people, and have appropriate production plans for crops and livestock.

The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Ca Mau closely monitors and updates information on strong winds at sea; notifies owners of ships and boats to proactively avoid and ensure safety for people and property. Prepare rescue forces and means to respond when required.

Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam and central and local news agencies and newspapers regularly update information on the developments of severe cold and strong winds at sea, increase broadcasting time and transmit information on mass media so that people know and proactively prevent.

Organize a serious on-duty team, proactively grasp the situation and promptly report to the Office of the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the Office of the National Committee for Search and Rescue to handle situations when they arise./.
