Instant freezing technology demonstrated in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - Applying instant freezing technology will reduce costs and save fresh water on boats for fishermen, helping to preserve products on boats and preserve seafood after catching.

On the morning of October 12, at Lach Quen port (Quynh Luu), the Department of Science and Technology organized a workshop "Connecting technology supply and demand, introducing technological innovation and technical improvements for businesses, organizations and individuals in Nghe An province".

At the workshop, the Department of Science and Technology introduced and demonstrated the technology of “instant freezing”. Accordingly, normally, fishing boats that spend long periods at sea must carry ice to preserve seafood at great expense.

However, the “instant freezing” technology will reduce the water temperature exponentially to a deep cold temperature of -40 degrees Celsius (the maximum deep cold can be adjusted to -60 degrees Celsius within 5 to 15 minutes depending on the needs of each product), the product will freeze and the cells in the product will remain in their original state.

The product can be stored for up to 36 months without any change in quality. With the deep negative temperature, during the voyage, ships can use fresh water or sea water to make ice to store in the warehouse.

At the same time, applying this technology will reduce costs and save fresh water on boats for fishermen because it can freeze seawater instead of ice to help preserve products on boats, thus reducing cold storage costs and ice costs on boats.
