Recognition of 11 typical rural industrial products

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 9, the Department of Industry and Trade held a conference to summarize the work of 2014 and deploy tasks for 2015.

Attending the event were Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, leaders of Vinh city, a number of localities and provincial departments.

In 2014, overcoming difficulties, Nghe An's industrial and commercial production achieved positive results, industrial production was on the path of recovery, especially in the last months of the year in some advantageous industries. Industrial production value reached 30,846 billion VND, up nearly 14% compared to 2013, reaching 105% of the yearly plan (the whole country had a growth rate of 7.14%). The industrial production index increased higher than in recent years because in the year there were some new capacities that increased production products and some products that are input materials for construction such as construction stone, burnt bricks, cement, roofing sheets have initially recovered production.

Regarding commercial activities, the commercial and service business network continued to expand in all three urban, rural and mountainous areas. Total retail sales of goods in 2014 reached VND34,652 billion, up 11% compared to 2013 (the whole country increased by 10.6%). Total export turnover for the year reached 682 million USD, up 5.53% compared to 2013, of which export turnover of goods in 2014 reached 415.4 million USD, up 10.2% compared to the same period last year.

In 2015, the industry and trade sector set the following targets: Industrial production value reached 34,882 billion VND, up 13.08% compared to 2014; Total retail sales of goods and services reached 45,000 billion VND. Total export turnover reached 550 million USD, of which: Export turnover of goods reached 420 million USD; Import turnover reached 350 million USD.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Huynh Thanh Dien emphasized: 2015 is the final year of implementing the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2011-2015, Nghe An province continues to focus on implementing Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the direction and tasks of developing Nghe An province until 2020; at the same time, it is the year of holding Party Congresses at all levels for the 2015-2020 term. Therefore, the sector needs to strive to complete the main targets and tasks of the 17th Provincial Party Congress at the highest level.
