Cong Phuong did not contribute in STVV's draw; Man Utd lost at Old Trafford
(Baonghean.vn) - Marcus Rashford's missed penalty contributed to Man Utd's 1-2 defeat to Crystal Palace in round 3 of the Premier League, while Cong Phuong did not contribute in STVV's draw.
MU missed penalty again
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were defeated in a game in which they dominated the game - even having 71% possession - but failed to create many dangerous chances. Man Utd had 22 shots but only 3 were on target, while Palace had the same number of shots on target but only 5.

In the first 20 minutes, Man Utd continuously attacked the goal. The clearest chance was when Daniel James volleyed from close range but the ball hit a Palace player and went wide.
While pushing up the formation and putting pressure to find the opening goal, Man Utd were hit by a counterattack. From a kick-off by goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, Jeffrey Schlupp beat Victor Lindelof in the air and headed a pass for Jordan Ayew to run down and beat David De Gea in the face-off. This was a simple but effective attack from the visitors.
In the second half, Scott McTominay suddenly entered the penalty area after Martial's wall and was fouled by Luka Milivojevic. Last week, Man Utd lost the victory against Wolves because of Pogba's missed penalty. That scenario repeated itself but this time, the one who missed was Rashford. The England striker shot hard and fooled goalkeeper Guaita but the ball bounced off the post.

The game was moving towards the final minutes and Man Utd were getting more impatient. In a late counter-attack, after Pogba tried to win the ball back from a Palace player, Man Utd found an equalizer. Receiving the ball from his teammate, James calmly handled the ball and put the ball into the top corner with a curling shot without any momentum.
With five minutes of added time in the second half, United pressed for victory. However, they paid the price. Pogba took a risk in midfield before being robbed by Christian Benteke. Zaha led the ball into the box and although his run failed to get past former team-mate Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Patrick Van Aanholt was in the right place to unleash a powerful shot from a tight angle. De Gea got a hand to the ball but could not save it. The defeat left United with just four points from three games.
Real Madrid draw at home
Facing Real Valladolid, an opponent considered much weaker, Real Madrid, with all their best players, including James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale, was still held to a draw at home at the Bernabeu.
Entering the first match at the Bernabeu in La Liga 2019/20, coach Zinedine Zidane made a few changes compared to the victory over Celta Vigo in the opening match. The French strategist simultaneously put two out-of-favor stars Bale and James on the field as a confirmation that he has no problem with these players and that their futures at Real are guaranteed, at least for this season.

The deadlock was only broken in the 82nd minute of the match. After many missed opportunities, Benzema shined with a tricky shot right on the edge of the penalty area. With this goal, Benzema reached the milestone of 150 goals for Real Madrid and became the first French player in history to do so for the royal team.
However, the joy of Real players did not last long. In the 86th minute, taking advantage of Toni Kroos' mistake in losing the ball in the middle of the field, Oscar Plano stole the ball, made a few moves before putting Sergi Guardiola in a one-on-one situation with Thibaut Courtois. And the Belgian goalkeeper's skillful finish through both legs helped Guardiola bring a valuable point to Valladolid, ending a streak of 6 consecutive losses at the Bernabeu that lasted from 2008 until now.
Cong Phuong did not contribute in STVV's draw.
Cong Phuong was registered again but only sat on the bench in STVV's 0-0 draw with Waregem in round 5 of the Belgian National Championship in the early morning of August 25.
Facing an opponent that was considered equally strong, home team STVV proactively played solidly on their home field and organized counter-attacks with attacks from both wings.
The first half was quite boring. Both clubs played cautiously, so there were not many notable situations created. Cong Phuong's teammates had a few shots towards the away team's goal but could not cause any trouble for goalkeeper Bossut.

STVV played more proactively in the second half. Coach Marc Brys' team had a lot of possession but still didn't know what to do other than use long-range shots.
