Nghe An Industry and Trade: Industrial growth boosts the entire sector's economy
(Baonghean.vn) - In 2021, despite continuing to be affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, thanks to the synchronous implementation of safe and flexible adaptation solutions and effective control of the epidemic, the growth indicators of Nghe An Industry and Trade basically achieved high growth.
On the afternoon of January 7, the Department of Industry and Trade held a conference to review the work in 2021 and deploy tasks in 2022. Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended and gave a speech. Also attending were representatives of relevant departments and branches.

2021, marking the yearNghe An Industry and Tradein many fields, making positive and important contributions to the overall socio-economic development results of the province.
Specifically, the industrial production index increased by 16.01% compared to 2020, of which: Production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning increased by 27.95%; processing and manufacturing industry increased by 15.69%; mining industry increased by 14.73%; water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment decreased by 1.83%. The industrial production value in 2021 is estimated at VND 81,750 billion, exceeding the assigned plan by 3.12% and increasing by 17.95% compared to 2020, thereby boosting the economy of the whole industry.

Export turnoverestimated at 2,411.7 million USD, up 59.7% compared to 2020; of which goods exports are estimated at 2,096.7 million USD, up 74.7%/year 2020, exceeding 130.4% of the plan. Many items have export turnover growing well compared to 2020. Nghe An enterprises have exported to about 125 countries and territories. Import turnover in 2021 is estimated at 950 million USD, up 13.09% compared to 2020.
Total retail sales of goods are estimated at 66,848 billion VND, the goods market is stable, commercial infrastructure is increasingly developing in a modern direction, administrative reform and the investment and business environment are increasingly improved.
Last year, the industry also focused on developing a Plan for the development of industry - handicrafts, trade - services, electricity and energy infrastructure to integrate the Socio-Economic Development Plan of Nghe An province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

Promoting investment in industry and trade
At the conference, Mr. Pham Van Hoa - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said: In 2022, besides the advantages, many difficulties are forecasted: Natural disasters, epidemics, unpredictable developments, low competitiveness of the economy; impact of the 4.0 industrial revolution; industrial, commercial, logistics infrastructure... have not met development requirements; low income and purchasing power of the people are challenges in implementing the industrial and trade development plan.
Therefore, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to work closely with departments, branches and localities to strive to complete the assigned tasks well. In particular, in the energy sector, the Ministry will work with investors who are interested in researching solar power, biomass power and wind power to have the earliest input survey data in 2022.

To achieve the set goals, the industry has proposed important solutions, which are: focusing on directing the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the 19th Provincial Party Congress, the 5-year socio-economic development plan for the period 2021-2025. Focusing on epidemic prevention; continuing to synchronously and effectively implement tasks and solutions to remove difficulties in production and business, promoting investment in the industry and trade sector. Promoting economic restructuring towards improving productivity, quality and competitiveness, promoting growth and economic restructuring associated with promoting administrative reform, practicing thrift and preventing corruption.
In 2022, the Industry and Trade sector sets the target:Industrial production value:92,500 billion VND. Total retail sales of goods: 74,000 billion VND. Total export turnover: 2,350 million USD, of which:Export turnover of goods: 2,000 million USD.Total import turnover: 1,000 million USD.
Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice PresidentProvincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinhacknowledge and appreciate the results that the Industry and Trade sector has achieved in the past time. This is a year full of efforts, demonstrating the determination of all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the sector to successfully complete assigned tasks, making important contributions to the overall socio-economic development of the province.

However, to successfully carry out the tasks set out in 2022, it is recommended that the industry focus on developing industry, mechanical industry, thermal power, paying attention to the power grid serving production and life... Focus on removing difficulties for businesses; promote investment promotion to call for domestic and foreign investors to Nghe An to invest in export production, creating a breakthrough in creating a rich source of export goods, increasing export turnover for the following years in the period of 2022-2025. Together with related industries, remove "bottlenecks" in logistics infrastructure, in order to increase the competitiveness of import-export enterprises.

At the same time, continue to closely monitor the developments of the Covid-19 pandemic to have timely response measures. Proactively exploit and expand the market, encourage domestic consumption, strengthen the connection between production and the market along the supply chain. Strengthen the application of information technology, develop e-commerce to support the consumption of OCOP products, typical agricultural and rural industrial products and typical products of the province...; promote investment promotion, focusing on developing rural and mountainous trade infrastructure...
