South Korean prosecutors question Park Geun-hye next month

(Baonghean.vn)- On January 17, the special prosecutor's office of South Korea said it plans to question President Park Geun-hye in early February, in an investigation into the corruption scandal that led to the country's National Assembly passing her impeachment last month.

Special prosecutors' office spokesman Lee Kyu-chul said they expected Ms Park to agree to the questioning but had not yet discussed the details with her office.

As president, Park is immune from prosecution in the case, but she has said she would agree to be questioned by a special prosecutor. Park has denied any involvement in the political scandal that has rocked South Korea.

The Constitutional Court will decide whether to support or oppose the impeachment move by the National Assembly.
