The breakthrough of local products
In 2018, the Vietnamese beer industry had about 110 manufacturing enterprises, widely distributed across regions with an estimated production output of up to 4.3 billion liters of beer, and an estimated consumption output of 4.2 billion liters of beer. It is noteworthy that the growth in the beer industry's output is showing signs of slowing down, with the growth rate in the last 3 years decreasing compared to the growth in previous periods.

However, in 2018, overcoming the common difficulties of the beer industry nationwide, Saigon - Nghe Tinh Beer Joint Stock Company has strived to achieve many business results. In 2018, the company produced 43.7 million liters, consumed 43.1 million liters; sales revenue of 266 billion VND, paid to the budget 250 billion VND. 2018 marked the outstanding "throne" of the local beer brand, with the consumption of canned beer under the Vida brand, reaching 264.1% compared to 2017.

The breakthrough result of that remarkable growth is the effort of the Company's Board of Directors in planning appropriate sales strategies, in parallel with improving quality as well as innovating product designs. That is the effectiveness of capital investment in technological innovation, building infrastructure, equipment as well as training to improve the capacity of officers and employees. Specifically, the company has invested in a beer level inspection machine in bottles, cans and an open leak inspection machine worth 1.5 billion VND; invested in upgrading the brewery automation system worth 2.4 billion VND; invested in upgrading the environmental monitoring system... Regarding human resources, in 2018, the workforce is gradually becoming younger, being trained and educated to increase the ability to adapt to new production technologies.

Identifying food safety and hygiene, ensuring post-production environment is a vital issue for enterprises specializing in beverage production, the Company always maintains and continuously improves the quality management system in accordance with international standard ISO 9001-2008, the food safety and hygiene management system in accordance with HACCP standard, the environmental management system in accordance with international standard ISO 14001:2010.

The quality control of input materials as well as finished products is strictly carried out, in accordance with the technical requirements of the Quality Control Board - General Company as well as the Factory Quality Testing Department. Therefore, 100% of products when put on the market meet the requirements and are highly appreciated. The Company has invested in a new fire protection system, organized training for 100% of employees on fire protection skills, labor safety, and food hygiene and safety. In 2018, the environment inside and outside the factory was maintained clean and tidy. There were no incidents of fire, explosion, or occupational safety loss. The wastewater treatment system underwent an investment upgrade from 2013 to 2015 and has now been granted a discharge license for a capacity of 50 million liters/year. The Company's environmental management work was highly appreciated by the Inspection Team of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
Inheriting the tradition of the unit, along with effective production and business, ensuring the lives of workers, last year, Saigon - Nghe Tinh Beer Joint Stock Company continued to be one of the leading units of the province in social, humanitarian and charitable activities. In particular, this year is the 23rd year that the unit has accompanied Nghe An Newspaper in the Youth - Children's Football Tournament of Nghe An Newspaper Cup as the main sponsor.

Diverse solutions
The special consumption tax rate has increased continuously in the period from 2015 to 2018 from 50% to 65%, fierce competition between brands is a challenge for Saigon - Nghe Tinh Beer Joint Stock Company in 2019. The company determined that the increase in production capacity due to investment in machinery and equipment, bottles and kegs from previous years continues to be a premise to help improve production and business efficiency this year. Local beer products such as: Vida Light bottled beer, Vida Lager canned beer, although being new types of beer produced in 2017, have achieved high output levels. Therefore, these are 2 potential types of beer, a "lever" to increase local beer output in 2019, with a production target of 50.5 million liters and consumption of 100% of the above quantity; sales revenue of 312 billion VND, budget contribution of 255 billion VND.

To achieve the above goals, the Company has proposed solutions such as: Trying to produce at maximum capacity of the factory; Flexible production management to meet market demand during peak season of the Corporation's products as well as Vida branded products. The Company will also promote consumption activities, closely coordinate with Saigon Beer Trading Company Limited and Saigon Beer delivery and transportation unit to facilitate the collection of goods as much as possible and reduce inventory costs to the lowest level. The Company will also continue to improve product quality, perfect the sales and consumption system of local beer products in a professional manner, in accordance with the actual consumption situation. The company's highest goal is to produce local beer products with increasingly improved quality, able to compete effectively with domestic and international beer brands in the North Central region, thereby improving the lives of cadres and workers, contributing to the State budget and especially having the conditions to support more and more social activities for the benefit of the community.
