(Baonghean.vn)-Nghe An Sugarcane Company has just approved a support policy for sugarcane growing areas of at least 0.15 hectares or more in the company's planning area, with the mandatory condition being the use of sugarcane varieties that are free of weed bud disease.

Specifically, people will be able to borrow money to buy seeds from disease-free areas at a rate of 15 million VND/ha, including non-refundable support of 1.5 million VND/ha. Priority is given to clean and disease-resistant seeds including QD93-159, ROC10, ROC16, etc. In addition, the Company also lends 6 million VND/spraying machine and 25 million VND/small farming machine.

The loan will be charged a preferential interest rate of 0.60%/month from the date of receiving the loan until the start of the 2016-2017 crushing season if farmers provide enough sugarcane to repay the debt. However, the loan to buy small tractors and pesticide sprayers will not be charged interest.

In addition, for 100 hectares of reclaimed land and converted from industrial crop growing areas such as acacia, orange, lemon to sugarcane... will be supported with 1 million VND/1ha; converting ineffective single-crop rice land to sugarcane will be supported with 2 million VND/1ha.
