The cassava growing area for the production line of Hoa Son cassava starch factory has been approved by the province to be planned for 3,500 hectares in 4 districts of Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Quy Chau and Anh Son. Up to now, the company has stably developed the raw material area in the difficult hilly areas of Con Cuong district such as Thach Ngan, Mau Duc, Mon Son, Lang Khe, Chau Khe, Thanh - Binh - Tho area in Anh Son.... Currently, cassava is grown by Bac Son villagers (Mon Son) on 24 hectares, mainly on hilly land used to grow acacia in the first years or land that cannot be specialized for other crops. However, due to lack of output, people have stopped cultivating. To increase productivity and efficiency of cassava raw material areas for production at the factory, the Company focuses on cultivating KM94 cassava variety. This is a good variety with many advantages such as adaptability to all types of soil, drought resistance, high disease resistance, good intensive yield that can reach 30 - 35 tons/ha, starch content of over 27%.
