Nghe An Telecommunications Company opens "Internet Point for poor district youth"

(Baonghean) -On the morning of September 5, Nghe An Telecommunications Company held the opening ceremony of the "Youth Internet Point in Poor Districts" and presented gifts to poor students who overcame difficulties to study well in Ky Son, Tuong Duong and Que Phong districts.

The program “Internet Points for Poor District Youth” is part of the plan of VNPT Group in coordination with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to be implemented in 18 provinces and cities nationwide. At each Internet point for poor district youth, the program will equip a computer room including: 06 computers, 01 printer, 01 bookcase. The entire cost of the program is sponsored by VNPT Group.

In 2011, the program was piloted at 63 locations nationwide. According to VNPT Group's plan, this program will be implemented at 1,000 locations.

In Nghe An, the program "Youth Internet Points in Poor Districts" has installed computer rooms at schools in three districts: Ky Son, Tuong Duong and Que Phong, one point in each district.

Ky Son Boarding High School, Tuong Duong Ethnic Minority Secondary School and Kim Son Secondary School were selected to install and hand over computer rooms to serve the exploitation of information and teaching for students. In addition, the computer room is also a place to provide facilities for the above districts to organize training programs for officials and civil servants. As part of the program plan, the IT teachers of the schools were organized online training by the Group and provided with documents to operate the computer room. Also on this occasion, Nghe An Telecommunication Company also organized gifts for poor students overcoming difficulties at schools in the above districts, each school received 05 gifts with a total value of 1,500,000 VND.

Once deployed and put into operation, the Program will provide high-tech means for young people in poor districts to access rich information sources from the Internet.
