Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that at the G20 meeting, German Chancellor Angela Merkel asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to send German and French experts to the Kerch Strait area, and the Russian leader agreed. However, the visit has not yet taken place. At the same time, according to Mr. Lavrov, the German side also proposed to arrange a simple trip with a certain document, which must be agreed with Ukraine.

On the Crimean side, Mr. Yuri Gempel - Chairman of the regional parliamentary committee on interstate relations affirmed: "Crimea has nothing to hide. We are open, including about the situation around the Kerch Strait. Angela Merkel's proposal is quite reasonable and correct if Germany and France are ready to conduct a constructive dialogue and objectively assess everything that happens in the Kerch Strait.

The presence of such experts will only demonstrate Russia's strict adherence to all international norms and rules, Gempel added.
