According to RT news agency, sharing on Telegram after 6am this morning (local time), Mr. Aksyonov said that the consequences of the attack by "enemy drones" were "4 administrative buildings" damaged, and at least one person killed. However, Mr. Aksyonov did not specify the location of the attack.

“Unfortunately, a young woman died,” Mr. Aksyonov sent “sincere and deep condolences,” as well as promised to support the victim's family with “everything necessary.”

The incident comes after a series of attacks this week by Kiev on Crimea, a peninsula that belonged to Ukraine but was annexed by Russia in 2014.

On the morning of July 19, a suspected UAV attack caused a fire and a series of explosions at an arms depot in eastern Crimea. Local authorities closed a section of the Tavrida highway and evacuated about 2,200 people.

On July 18, Russian air defense forces announced that they had intercepted 28 UAVs attempting to attack multiple locations across the Crimean peninsula.

The Crimean Bridge was also attacked by a sea drone on July 17, killing and injuring a family of three.
