Traffic police chased a car carrying 118 pangolins (over 550 kg) |
On the morning of April 6, the Traffic Police Department of Hoa Binh Province completed procedures to hand over people and vehicles along with 118 pangolins (over 550 kg) to the Investigation Police Department of Hoa Binh Province for handling.
Previously, at nearly 6:00 p.m. on April 5, at Km 492 on Ho Chi Minh Road through Lac Thinh Commune, Yen Thuy District, the Ho Chi Minh Road patrol team signaled to check a 7-seat car with a Hanoi license plate going from Thanh Hoa to Hanoi.
The driver and another man in the car did not obey orders, accelerated and fled, then crashed into a motorbike and a car parked on the side of the road, causing minor damage to both vehicles. The driver then turned onto Highway 12B (Don Duong, Yen Thuy).
During the escape, the driver swerved and squeezed the traffic police car, so the task force fired warning shots, but the driver continued to accelerate at high speed. When reaching the left branch of Road 12B, the patrol team used a K59 gun to shoot at the left rear tire of the 7-seater car. Because the driver did not stop, the team continued to shoot at the left front tire, causing the car to "lock" its wheels.
The two people in the car opened the door and ran away. The task force and nearby people chased and captured a man. At the police station, this man gave his name as Phan Xuan Bao (36 years old, Huong Son, Ha Tinh), and admitted that he drove the car away.
Authorities continue to hunt for the remaining person in the 7-seater car./.
