90-year-old woman refuses cancer treatment to travel the world
This is a touching story about a 90-year-old woman who was diagnosed with cancer. Although her doctor advised her to seek treatment, she decided that she wanted to enjoy the rest of her time traveling.
And here is Norma's touching story:

Norma is a homemaker in Midwest Michigan who lost several people near and dear to her before being diagnosed with cancer.

Her daughter, Stacy, died of cancer in 2008 at the age of 44. Her beloved brother, Ralph, passed away last June, followed by her husband, Leo, just a month later.

Just two days after her husband's death, Norma went to the doctor and was diagnosed with uterine cancer. Ignoring conventional treatment, she boldly refused to go to the hospital.

“I am 90 years old,” Norma told the doctor, “I do not want to stay in bed, but I want to go on a trip.” The doctor agreed with her, saying that he would have made the same decision if he had been in her shoes.

Her son Tim and daughter-in-law Raime asked her if she wanted to go with them.

Although Norma had traveled to Europe with her daughter Stacy while she was alive, she had never been to any state in the United States except Michigan.

Ramie and Tim wanted to leave as soon as possible because Norma was in poor health and depressed. They hoped that at least three of them could make it to Wisconsin before she died.

The three set out on August 24 last year. The trip was a great catalyst for Norma. Her spirits and health improved dramatically.

Norma's photos show that her health has completely improved. She enjoys eating cakes, drinking beer and other snacks.

Thousands of messages have poured into Norma's Facebook account from people both normal and those with cancer. They say they are inspired by her story.

One of the most memorable experiences Norma, Ramie, and Tim had was when they visited the World War II Museum in New Orleans.

When they learned that Norma was a veteran who had served in the US Navy as a nurse, the museum staff treated her like a queen.

Another worthwhile experience was when Norma fulfilled her lifelong dream of taking a hot air balloon ride in Orlando, Florida. This came about after Ramie discovered that Norma and her late husband, Leo, had collected numerous books and advertisements about hot air balloon rides.

“We always thought it would be cool to go for a ride in a hot air balloon, but we never got around to it,” Norma shared.

After some searching, Ramie finally found a company that offered this service. Needless to say, Norma was in awe after she disappeared into the sky - she couldn't believe that she was finally up there in a hot air balloon.

While Ramie and Tim knew Norma's last day would come at any moment, Norma continued to amaze them both with her health and spirit. It seemed that traveling was Norma's greatest medicine.

And so, their next plan will not stop.
