The British old lady not only ate her fill at the buffet at the funeral but also secretly took some food home to put in the refrigerator to eat gradually.

Theresa Doyle, 65, of Slough, England, has recently become a story in the British news. Neighbors and relatives of the deceased, whose funerals Doyle has attended for the past 14 years, accuse her of intruding into the crowd of mourners just to fill her stomach.

Doyle showed up at funerals, pretending to know the deceased and sometimes chatting with friends and family, before eating buffets “like there was no tomorrow”. She was even accused of taking food to go.

Mrs. Theresa Doyle cycled to the funeral and brought food home to eat gradually.

One of Mrs Doyle's neighbours told the Daily Record: "She left the house in her usual light-coloured clothes but hid in the basket of her bicycle the black funeral clothes she would change into when she went to church. When she got to the funeral, she would take the food and bring it home to put in the freezer. Doyle had been doing this for about 14 years at all the funerals of strangers."

Margaret Whitehead, who had just buried her daughter who died of Addison's disease, told reporters that Doyle showed up at the funeral and chatted with everyone. Margaret's daughter had many friends and co-workers, so Margaret assumed that Doyle was just a co-worker. However, when Margaret spoke to Doyle, Doyle said that she had known Margaret's daughter when they both worked as waitresses. Margaret, meanwhile, insisted that her daughter had never worked as a waitress.

"She ate the buffet like there was no tomorrow. At the end of the service, she took out a box and stuffed it with food and put it in the basket of her bicycle," said the grieving mother. "When the funeral was in the morning she wasn't there, she only showed up at noon when it was time for lunch."

The local church where Mrs Doyle regularly attends funerals 'freeloads'.

Father Noel Connolly of the Church of the Redeemer, where Doyle frequented, said he knew all about Doyle. "Every funeral we saw her come without an invitation. She was a Catholic woman and she believed in attending as many Masses as possible. So I couldn't say, 'You can't come here,'" Father Noel said.

When asked about attending funerals for 14 years, Doyle simply told reporters: "It's my job."

"When someone dies, she goes to the funeral. She goes around the corner of the crematorium in her black dress. When she realizes there's no food, she changes into her black dress and rides away on her bike. We asked her why she did this, but she wouldn't answer," said one of Doyle's neighbors.
