On the morning of June 3, at the National Funeral House (No. 5 - Tran Thanh Tong - Hanoi), the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; the Central Organizing Committee, together with the family, held the funeral of comrade Ho Duc Viet, former member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Party Committee, former Head of the Central Organizing Committee according to the State-level ceremony:

At exactly 7:30 a.m. on June 3, the delegation of the Party Central Committee led by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; the delegation of the President led by President Truong Tan Sang; the delegation of the National Assembly led by National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung; the delegation of the Government led by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; the delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front led by comrade Huynh Dam, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; and the delegation of the Central Organizing Committee led by comrade To Huy Rua, Head of the Central Organizing Committee paid their respects to comrade Ho Duc Viet.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong wrote in the condolence book: “Deeply mourning comrade Ho Duc Viet, former member of the Party Central Committee, former member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Organization Commission, former National Assembly delegate, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee - a man with many merits and contributions to the cause of renovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland. His passing is a loss to the Party, State and people, leaving behind endless sorrow for his family, relatives, comrades and friends. Farewell comrade, my deepest condolences to the entire family.”

Also visiting comrade Ho Duc Viet this morning were the family of former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; former President Nguyen Minh Triet; former Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - Pham The Duyet; delegations of ministries, departments, branches, and organizations at the central level and delegations of many provinces and cities across the country...

The memorial service for comrade Ho Duc Viet will be held until 2:45 p.m. this afternoon (June 3). The memorial service will be at 3 p.m. the same day. The burial ceremony will be at 5:05 p.m. this afternoon, at Mai Dich Cemetery, Hanoi./.
