Nguyen Thi Tru is recognized as the oldest woman in the world.

On May 28, 2015, the World Records Union (WorldKings) officially recognized Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tru - the oldest woman in Vietnam, as "The oldest woman in the world."

The recognition of this record is entirely based on the independent opinion of the World Record Union Council, along with the collected documents and records, and on the nomination of the Vietnam Record Organization (Vietkings). Thus, two out of three World Record organizations have recognized this record.

Previously, on April 20, 2015, the World Records Association also officially recognized Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tru as "The oldest woman in the world."

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tru, born on May 4, 1893, currently residing in Hamlet 5, Da Phuoc Commune, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City.

This is a rare record in the world, because previously, according to world records, the record for the oldest woman was Misao Okawa (Japan) who lived to be 117 years old, but passed away on April 1, 2015./.
