Old man threw acid on his 22-year-old lover out of jealousy

A 70-year-old man suspected his lover in Long An had someone else, so he threw acid on her and then left for Ho Chi Minh City.

On October 19, Ben Luc District Police (Long An) is coordinating with Ho Chi Minh City Police to invite Mr. Tran Van Bao Nhan (70 years old, from Ho Chi Minh City) to clarify the act of throwing acid on a 48-year-old woman from Long An.

The previous morning, the woman was on her way to work from her boarding house in Long Hiep commune (Ben Luc) when Mr. Nhan stopped her and threw acid on her.

The victim was taken to Cho Ray Hospital for emergency treatment with burns on many parts of his body, 30%.

According to the initial investigation, she and Mr. Nhan had both divorced before and moved to a rented room in Ben Luc to live together. Recently, Mr. Nhan often got jealous and beat her. A month ago, he tried to throw acid on his lover but failed.

After committing the crime, Mr. Nhan left for Ho Chi Minh City.
