Nguyen Tran Anh Tuan made remarkable progress compared to himself, bringing the Vietnamese team a silver medal in the 56 kg category at the tournament in Peru.

In yesterday's competition, Nguyen Tran Anh Tuan achieved a total lift of 260 kg (115 kg snatch, 145 kg clean and jerk).

This is the second best result in this weight class at the World Youth Championships. The gold medal winner was Lin Zhixiang (China) because his opponent achieved a total lift of 262kg (116kg snatch, 146kg clean and jerk).

Although he only won a silver medal, his achievement in Peru still marked Anh Tuan's remarkable progress, as his previous personal best was only 243 kg less than a year ago.

At the 2nd Youth Olympics held in Nanning (China) last year, Anh Tuan achieved a total lift of 243kg and won a silver medal. A year earlier, this weightlifter also won a silver medal at the 2013 Asian Youth Games with a total lift of 235kg. In terms of professional results, the progress this weightlifter has made in two years is very clear.

Anh Tuan is considered the third golden generation in the men's 56 kg weightlifting category, following in the footsteps of his seniors Hoang Anh Tuan, Tran Le Quoc Toan, and Thach Kim Tuan. This young athlete also belongs to the Ho Chi Minh City Weightlifting Team and is led by coach Huynh Huu Chi.
