When will ocean pollution end?
At the meeting with voters, Bui Van Xuan (Dien Kim commune) reported that the coastal areas of the communes: Dien Hung, Dien Hai, Dien Kim, Dien Van, Dien Trung, Dien Bich, Dien Thanh... are facing increasingly serious pollution.
According to Mr. Xuan, the coastal areas are often characterized by high population density while residential and communal land areas are limited. Therefore, the amount of waste and wastewater that needs to be treated and collected is not small. Meanwhile, the planning of concentrated landfills in localities is still lacking and not guaranteed, and the awareness of environmental protection of people in many places is still weak... Therefore, over the years, coastal areas have become places where waste accumulates, causing serious environmental pollution.

Agreeing with the above opinion, many voters in Dien Hai and Dien Kim communes also shared that, although many locations and residential areas have been posted with signs prohibiting dumping, people still secretly dump waste at night or when there are no people. Especially, in craft villages, restaurants, hotels, and fish markets, the situation is even more alarming. In addition to littering, some factories producing and processing fishmeal and fish sauce do not have proper waste disposal systems.
Voters have reflected this issue at voter meetings with National Assembly deputies and district and commune authorities, but it has not been thoroughly resolved.

Allowances and benefits have not attracted talented people.
Voter Vu Duy Khanh - Secretary of the Party Cell of Trung Khanh hamlet (Dien Hoang commune) said that the policy on attracting talented and virtuous young people to participate in grassroots activities still has many shortcomings.
From his experience after many years of taking on the role of Village Party Secretary, Mr. Khanh said that this is a task with a lot of pressure, requiring qualified, flexible, creative and healthy people. However, most of the Party cell secretaries and village leaders are retired cadres, elderly people or over 50 years old. Therefore, they encounter many difficulties in carrying out the assigned tasks.
For young people, being well-trained locally is not impossible, but with the current allowance regime, it is not enough to cover living expenses, so it is difficult to attract them to participate in local and grassroots activities.
Many other issues related to granting land use right certificates, merging villages, reporting crimes, allowances for concurrent positions, regenerating aquatic resources, and the deterioration of the bridge and road system... were also mentioned and reflected by voters.

Acknowledging and receiving the opinions of concerned voters, the representative of the People's Committee of Dien Chau district explained issues related to authority. Regarding the issue of environmental pollution in the sea, in recent times, the district has implemented many solutions such as: re-planning garbage collection sites, conducting waste collection in canals, creeks and coastal areas; strictly controlling waste discharge in craft villages, seafood processing facilities... However, this issue cannot be completely resolved in a day or two. In particular, the people themselves also need to raise awareness to preserve the environment in which they live.
On behalf of the provincial National Assembly Delegation, comrade Nguyen Thanh Hien said that he will record and synthesize voters' opinions in a receptive and serious spirit to reflect to the National Assembly's functional agencies and relevant ministries and branches for consideration in the coming time.
