Voters 'offer advice' on output for agricultural products, avoiding bad harvest and falling prices
(Baonghean.vn) - Paying attention to the 4th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council, voters from all localities expressed their opinions and asked authorities at all levels to find solutions to overcome the situation of falling agricultural product prices.

The refrain of “good harvest, low price, good price, bad harvest” has caused many farmers to suffer losses. The reason is that production is still spontaneous, without market orientation, leading to many deadlocks in agricultural product output… Many farming households have left their fields and barns empty.
In my opinion, sustainable agricultural production requires the attention of the state, especially forecasting the market situation and orienting plant varieties and timing to help the agricultural sector and related sectors, and domestic localities build effective production and business plans, "feel the pulse" of the right market prices for agricultural products and have long-term solutions to purchase products stably so that farmers can produce effectively.
At the same time, to increase the value of agricultural products, it is necessary to pay attention to supporting post-harvest stages such as preservation, preliminary processing, refining, etc. to increase the value of domestic agricultural products because our agricultural products are mainly in the form of raw products, so the value is still low, affecting the income of farmers.
Voter Nguyen Dinh Phung, Pan village, Chau Ly commune, Quy Hop: Need to invest in developing clean agriculture.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phung. |
I am very happy that in recent years, the State has been promoting the demand for local agricultural products. Thanks to that, many local livestock breeds have been developed and brought high economic value to farmers. Especially, agricultural products produced by people in mountainous areas are clean products, so they are favored by the market.
I think to exploit the potential advantages of mountainous areas, the State needs to have policies to attract businesses to invest in building clean, high-tech agricultural models for replication, and at the same time, to purchase products for farmers, avoiding the situation where farmers produce without a market.
Furthermore, the most worrying issue in agricultural development today is that the State has not yet controlled the quality and safety of agricultural products. Therefore, products on the market are still mixed with real and fake. I propose that the State pay attention to supporting farmers in building agricultural product brands, combining investment in developing clean, safe, stable and sustainable agriculture, so that agricultural products can be accessed in large supermarkets or markets in countries around the world.
Voter Loc Quoc Viet, Xa Luong commune, Tuong Duong district: "The biggest obstacle is people's awareness''.

Mr. Loc Quoc Viet |
People in mountainous districts like Tuong Duong, our daily agricultural production has encountered many difficulties due to the weather, limited land fund, means of production and the application of science and technology in production is still very limited. Therefore, if the products produced are in low price and unsold, it will have a negative impact on psychology, easily leading to discouragement leading to the breakdown of the crop structure, cutting down one tree and abandoning another without following the instructions and planning of the government.
Therefore, in my opinion, to reduce the situation of good harvest but low prices, farmers, in addition to following the plans and instructions of officials and authorities in production and consumption, need to have certain subsidies for key local agricultural products.
In addition, people should focus on collecting all the products they make, not letting them go to waste. I see that the biggest obstacle in this issue is the awareness of farmers. People need to realize that they have to change their mindset, not wait for or rely on the support of the State but must be proactive in finding outlets for their products.
Voter Nguyen Duy Danh, Hamlet 2B, Thanh Phong Commune, Thanh Chuong District: "There needs to be a solution to reduce input costs."

My family has 5 plots of rice fields divided according to Decree 64. After the exchange, I bid for 6 more plots of rice fields.Rai Rai. Working hard all year round, on average each crop yields about 3 tons of rice, if sold out, the income is about 17 million VND. 3 tons of rice sounds big but 17 million VND is too small because that is the total income, minus the cost of fertilizer, seeds, pesticides, planting and harvesting, each crop only yields about 5 million VND, called net profit, on average less than 1 million VND per month.
Normally, we do not sell rice but invest in livestock farming, but this year the price of pigs is cheap, which leads to the value of other livestock being cheap, so livestock farming is losing money. I have sold all the sows and no longer raise pigs or chickens to quickly reduce the loss, but without livestock farming, I don't know what to do. I have reduced the number of rice crops, now I only produce spring crops, and in the near future, the area will be reduced. I hope the State will have a solution to help us farmers reduce production costs and increase the value of agricultural products."
Voter Dau Thi Lan, Hamlet 7, Nghi Trung Commune, Nghi Loc District: "The loan period for farmers should be extended from 1 year to 3 years.

Mrs. Dau Thi Lan. |
To minimize the situation of falling agricultural prices, I think that superiors, especially the agricultural sector, need to have orientation, forecast, and propaganda for farmers on what crops to plant and what animals to raise in each production season, helping farmers like us to produce agricultural products but not be able to sell them and suffer losses.
For example, my family has been worried for the past few months because the batch of over 300 pigs is ready to be sold but very few people come to buy them, so the family has to call traders from many places to sell at a loss. On average, each pig raised by the family in 4 months loses over 1 million VND. Knowing the loss, we cannot not sell because the price of feed does not decrease, and the bank interest must be paid on time. We have chosen the solution of selling "well" and asking relatives to slaughter the pigs and sell them everywhere, even going to the markets in Cua Lo to advertise for sale. Therefore, we hope that the local Party Committee, government and relevant agencies will soon find a solution to help people like us find the right direction to feel secure in production.
