(Baonghean.vn) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has just signed Decision No. 2355/QD-TTg recognizing Cua Lo town (Nghe An province) as a Coastal Tourism Urban Area.

Cua Lo is a place with beautiful terrain, favorable natural conditions, kind people, and unique cultural identity... A land that has long been famous for: "Literature is the pinnacle of the pen, martial arts are the blade of the sword, and medicine is unmatched anywhere else".

Cua Lo is a key tourist city of Nghe An province, established on August 29, 1994 under Decree 114/ND-CP of the Government. However, more than 105 years ago, on June 5, 1907, the Governor-General of Indochina signed a decree on determining the method of land ownership at Cua Lo beach. Here, the French built a number of villas to organize weekend vacations...

Cua Lo is rated by the World Tourism Organization as one of the most ideal beaches in Vietnam with a length of over 10 km, surrounded by two rivers at both ends, a gentle slope, clear blue sea water, moderate waves, suitable salinity are characteristics that not every beach has...

After 20 years of establishment, today, Cua Lo has 248 accommodation establishments with nearly 6,600 rooms, 13,500 beds, capable of receiving and serving 18,200 guests/day and night, of which 20 accommodation establishments meet 1-4 star standards to meet the needs of activities and organize international events.

Coming to Cua Lo, tourists will never forget because there are many special dishes here such as: Crab sprouts, Steamed crab with tamarind, Seven-course grouper, Grilled jumping squid, Braised squid, Squid mixed with grapefruit, Boiled squid, Fried stuffed squid, Squid rolls... Many tourists when traveling here have told each other to enjoy clam porridge or grilled mackerel head and tail and then were forever impressed with the flavor that cannot be found anywhere else.

The goal of Cua Lo town by 2020 is to "Build and develop the town into a civilized and modern tourist city".

With its inherent natural potential, along with determination and specific, reasonable and quite synchronous policies, Cua Lo aims to become a green - clean - beautiful coastal tourist city in the future, on par with major tourist destinations across the country.
