Cua Lo is civilized, clean and beautiful.
(Baonghean)- Compared to many other coastal cities such as Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Da Nang… Cua Lo is not really modern and professional, but it attracts tourists because it has clean beaches, friendly people, open space, fresh environment, enough conditions to become an attractive resort.

Environmental sanitation work in Cua Lo Town is getting better and better thanks to the positive change in people's awareness. Coming to Cua Lo at this time, although it is the tourist season, the number of visitors has increased many times, the amount of garbage is 2-3 times more than usual, but it is rare to see garbage on the streets. Even in restaurants, the situation of littering no longer exists because the restaurants have signed a commitment to ensure environmental sanitation and ensure food safety conditions. Before the tourist season, environmental sanitation work was launched by the town with the participation of all employees of departments, branches, people of all blocks and the participation of a large number of students and youth union members. In an unexpected situation like the occasion of April 30 this year, the amount of garbage on the beach increased dramatically because of the rain from upstream. In order to not leave a bad impression on tourists, the town authorities have called on all staff at restaurants and hotels to coordinate with environmental sanitation workers to collect and process waste. The town has also deployed mini decorated trash bins along Binh Minh Street and the beach park area, making it convenient for tourists to throw trash. At the same time, it is stipulated that each business kiosk must also be equipped with a trash bin for tourists to throw trash in, avoiding littering.
In residential areas, each hamlet has its own garbage collection point and someone in charge of collecting and cleaning the residential area every week. The biggest difficulty in many wards of Cua Lo in the past was mobilizing people to build hygienic toilets. However, thanks to the town's loan, up to now, over 80% of families have standard toilets. In the central area of the town, although public toilets were built a few years ago, they did not operate effectively due to lack of management. In 2014, all the degraded public toilets were renovated. At the same time, the town has built 4 more toilets in Nghi Huong ward and Cua Hoi area. These toilets will have people in charge and regularly monitor them, ensuring they are always clean, dry, and avoid the messy use as before.
Comparing Cua Lo five or ten years ago with Cua Lo today, Mr. Phan Cong Doi, Head of the Urban Management Department, was very happy because Cua Lo was more beautiful, cleaner and greener. However, he also admitted that the efforts of the town government were only a small part, more important was the awareness of the people. And the biggest success of Cua Lo in recent years was step by step propaganda, step by step mobilization so that every citizen was aware that they were residents of a coastal city and every action of theirs, every lack of awareness of theirs in preserving urban civilization would leave a bad image for tourists coming to Cua Lo. People agreed with the town's policy because everyone realized that before every decision, every policy, the town always put the interests of the people first.
For example, in urban beautification work, in handling street vending, selling goods on corridors and sidewalks. This is a type of business that has existed for many years in the coastal town and partly meets the shopping needs of tourists when they come to relax here. However, in the past, due to lack of management, souvenir stalls and street vending were organized quite messy, mostly temporarily set up on both sides of the road, affecting visibility as well as ensuring traffic safety and security and order of the town. Determining and eliminating the form of street vending is impossible, the town coordinates with wards and communes to plan street vending points. On that basis, divide the lots specifically and consider allocating stalls to suit each item. The town also has a policy of not arranging stalls along Binh Minh Street but focusing mainly on cross-streets so as not to affect people's travel. Thanks to this scientific but also very "reasonable" way of doing things, businesses in the area can do business with peace of mind. Mr. Nguyen Van Cong, Block 2, Nghi Thuy Ward, who runs a swimsuit stall on crossroad No. 6, said: "With a stable location, we have the conditions to carefully cover our stalls so we are no longer afraid of rain and wind. Customers can freely choose, and it is easy to move from one stall to another because they are located in the same area." Mr. Le Van Binh, Captain of the Urban Rules Team, said: "Since the planning of the stalls was built, the work of the brothers has become much easier, the number of encroachment violations has decreased significantly. For some violations, the inspection force initially only reminded them, then asked them to sign a commitment. If they re-offend, they will be handled based on the contents of the signed commitment.
It can be said that the way Cua Lo has done, the way the people have accepted and the positive feedback from domestic and foreign tourists has shown that Cua Lo is on the right track. And that is also the most sustainable direction, helping Cua Lo become more and more beautiful, more civilized, more modern in the hearts of tourists.
