Nghe An Tax Department warns of impersonation of tax officials to defraud businesses
(Baonghean.vn) - In a recent announcement, Nghe An Tax Department requested taxpayers to be vigilant against acts of impersonating tax officials to commit fraud.
Recently, Nghe An Tax Department has received some information reflecting that some subjects have called businesses directly, claiming to be (impersonating, pretending to be) civil servants at the Tax Propaganda Department, Nghe An Tax Department, introducing tax policies and consulting, supporting newly established businesses to enjoy preferential tax policies.
At the same time, notify the time and location of the training on tax exemption and reduction policy. Then, send documents by post, call to request payment for documents and to participate in the training.
Specifically, Ms. Mai Thi Thuong - Director of Hung Phu Construction and Trading Company Limited said that she received a phone call from a man claiming to be an official of Nghe An Tax Department.

This person introduced the tax exemption policy for newly established enterprises, and announced on June 14 that he would invite enterprises to the Tax Department for training on the tax exemption policy.
A few days later, Ms. Thuong’s company received a package containing documents on tax training and tax exemption policies. This man continued to call Ms. Thuong and asked her to pay 1.1 million VND through the post office staff and said that this amount had been issued by the Tax Department with a Tax Exemption Certificate for the business. Ms. Thuong was concerned and reported it to the tax authority.
After receiving feedback from taxpayers, on May 30, 2019, Nghe An Tax Department and Hoang Mai Town Tax Department also issued a document notifying businesses in the area to know, prevent and coordinate handling.
Nghe An Tax Department affirms: Nghe An Tax Department has no policy nor does it send officials to call, send by post or bring books and documents to sell to taxpayers.

“All documents and software are provided free of charge by the Tax Department and fully posted on the tax department’s website. All training programs organized by the Nghe An Tax Department are free of charge and the Tax Department sends training invitations to taxpayers or notifies the Tax Departments,” a representative of the Nghe An Tax Department affirmed.
Nghe An Tax Department recommends that taxpayers who encounter identity theft can report to the police or tax authorities at all levels for timely coordination and handling.
