"Without the Coast Guard, we would not have Tet" - that is the sentiment of many Ly Son residents (Quang Ngai province) when talking about the Coast Guard Region 2 Command (located in Tam Quang commune, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province).

On December 28, At Mui year, nearly 600 people returning to Ly Son island to celebrate Tet were still stranded due to rough seas. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam (An Vinh, Ly Son) said that he was working in Da Nang. He had been on Tet holiday since December 26, however, when he got to Sa Ky port (Binh Son, Quang Ngai) to return to the island, the waves were big and the sea was rough so the speedboat could not operate.

During the two days in Sa Ky, not only Mr. Nam but many other Ly Son people felt that Tet was approaching but the sea was still rough. "It would be better not to go home, but if we arrived in Sa Ky and could not go to the island, it would be very frustrating" - Mr. Nam shared. According to Mr. Nam, since the afternoon of December 28 (ie February 6), when we heard the announcement that we would be taken home by the coast guard ship to celebrate Tet, everyone was extremely happy.

Realizing that the weather was getting worse, on the afternoon of December 28, the People's Committee of Ly Son district proposed that the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province seek the support of the Command of Coast Guard Region 2 to bring 596 Ly Son people back to the island in time to celebrate New Year's Eve with their families.

In addition to Mr. Nam and Ms. Be, we also received many calls and messages from the “special passengers” of ship 8002. “Thank you very much, Coast Guard officers.
