The book that saved millions of marriages on the brink of collapse
That is the opinion of Mr. Dinh Thai Son, Master of Sexology and Human Development, when sharing his thoughts on the novel "50 Shades of Grey" by female author EL James.
On the evening of September 29, 2015, Alpha Books Joint Stock Company organized the “When a man loves” seminar and launched volume 4 of the “50 shades of grey” series by writer EL James. The speakers participating in the seminar included writer Y Ban and Master of Sexology and Human Development Dinh Thai Son.

Sharing his first words at the Seminar, Master Dinh Thai Son affirmed: “Alpha Books is a brave book company to dare to bring the book “50 Shades of Grey” to Vietnam for publication. With 15 years of research in the field of sexology, I think this is a book about civilized sexual life that everyone should read, especially adults. There will be many debates, saying that this book is too vulgar. But from my perspective, this book has the ability to help save millions of marriages on the brink of collapse and become happy again, by helping readers look back at themselves, their sex lives and be more open about the topic of sex.”
Writer Y Ban, who was criticized by the public for writing too much sexual content in the work “I am a woman”, also agrees that “50 Shades of Grey” is an interesting novel and should be read. “Vietnamese men and women still have many limitations in their sexual lives. Therefore, you should read this book to know how to overcome those limitations and bring your wife/husband back to you”, writer Y Ban said.
In the role of connecting and leading the story throughout the Discussion, MC Thao Van noted: “Since the release of volume 1 until now, more than 100 million copies of this novel have reached readers around the world. There must be a reason for that. Readers are now very smart. They will open a few pages, read a few lines before choosing to buy the book. If the first 3 episodes are an outsider's account of the love story between Christian Grey and Anastasia, then episode 4 is a story told in the male character Grey's own words about his love story, about the moments they were happy together.

The paper copy of the novel “50 Shades of Grey” is sold for 179,000 VND/book instead of 199,000 VND/book as originally planned. Volume 4 was published by AlphaBooks in Hanoi from September 29, 2015 and nationwide from October 10, 2015. The ebook version was exclusively published by Waka Library for 6 months from October 15, 2015. The first three volumes of the “50 Shades of Grey” series, respectively titled Gray, Black and Free, have been translated into 52 languages and sold 125 million copies worldwide. Volume 4 was released worldwide in June 2015 and has sold nearly 1.3 million copies worldwide to date. |
