Quynh Luu veterans hold a talk to celebrate the liberation of the South

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 30, the Veterans Association of Quynh Luu district held a discussion to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2017).

During the war against the US to save the country, Quynh Luu district focused on supporting the southern battlefield with human and material resources to contribute to the whole country in regaining independence and freedom for the nation.

During the two resistance wars against France and the US, Quynh Luu had 3,840 heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives; 2,884 wounded and sick soldiers; 685 people infected with Agent Orange, 174 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers. Up to now, the whole district has nearly 5,000 people enjoying the policy family regime.

Promoting the heroic tradition, every year Quynh Luu district has over 240 citizens participating in military service and 100% of soldiers completing their service return to their locality.

No matter where they are or what position they hold, veterans in Quynh Luu district always uphold the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, taking the lead in patriotic emulation movements and grassroots campaigns.

In particular, veterans are pioneers in participating in the movement to build new rural areas; develop economic models, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, improve the material and spiritual life of veterans; consolidate and build strong association organizations, contributing to building a clean and strong Party and government.

The seminar also heard many stories from veterans who directly participated in the resistance war, the process of building and developing the economy and society as well as the work of caring for policy families of the Party Committee and the government of Quynh Luu district.

The young generation of the district shared their feelings about the great sacrifices of the previous generation, thereby expressing their determination to build and protect the Fatherland in the new era at this very meaningful discussion.
