When asked why he decided to donate his organs and bones to medical science, Quy smiled and said that he just wanted to be able to help many people even after he died. Quy shared that the idea of donating his organs and bones to medical science began to grow in his mind a year ago. That was when he participated in the Red Journey to promote blood donation across Vietnam.
As a young party member admitted in 2017, Quy has been interested in participating in charity work since the beginning of his first year and signed up for the faculty's volunteer club before becoming a member of the Red Journey.
“During the days of traveling across Vietnam on the bus to mobilize blood donations, witnessing many difficult situations and listening to the stories of my brothers and sisters, I understood more and more the suffering of many people. Life is very short, so after I die, I still want to be able to help those less fortunate. Therefore, I decided to register to donate organs and bones to medicine,” Quy confided.
Before registering to donate organs and bones, Quy spent time convincing his family. Knowing that his daughter had loved to do charity work since she was still in school, Quy's family still could not agree when hearing that she wanted to register to donate organs and bones after death. However, because they trusted their daughter, after the second time of persuasion, Quy's parents nodded in agreement to let their daughter register to donate organs and bones for medical purposes.

Like many people doing charity work, Quy always believes that "living is about giving, not just receiving." Quy shared that the person who had many positive impacts, helping him have thoughts of contributing to the community, was teacher Pham Tien Dong, a lecturer at Vinh University.
"From the first day as a freshman, Mr. Dong inspired me and many friends in the department to work for the community; inspired me and many others in the department to live a decent life. Many of his teachings in life have become a guiding principle for students in the History department like me."
Currently, Quy is working in Hanoi and continuing the Red Journey program, a program to promote blood donation across Vietnam. This year, Quy is part of the coordinating board consisting of the most outstanding members in the North to carry out his journey. "I will continue my volunteer journey to spread kindness in the community," Quy confided.
