Former US intelligence officer: Russia will shoot down all F-16s delivered to Ukraine within 1 month
(Baonghean.vn) - According to a former US intelligence officer, the F-16 fighter jets that the Netherlands and Denmark transferred to Ukraine are old equipment and not safe to fly.

Former US intelligence officer and UN inspector Scott Ritter expressed his opinion on social network X that all F-16 fighter jets transferred to Kiev will be shot down within 1 month, and this is "an illusion of security in NATO's failed gamble".
According to the former intelligence officer, the F-16s that the Netherlands and Denmark delivered to Ukraine were old equipment, and unsafe according to US and NATO standards. Of the 42 delivered, only 24 F-16s were airworthy.
On August 20, during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to the Netherlands and Denmark, the two NATO member countries pledged to provide F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. The commitment was made just days after the US agreed to let Denmark and the Netherlands send F-16s to Ukraine. The first deliveries are expected to take place in early 2024.
Mr Zelensky called the decision a “breakthrough agreement” and said the F-16s would help strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses, helping it counter Russian forces.
