Previously, on the afternoon of February 15, fishing boat NA 90509TS of Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, residing in Quynh Phuong ward (Hoang Mai town) was fishing about 80 nautical miles from shore when big waves and strong winds flooded the engine room, putting it at risk of sinking.

At this time, there were 9 crew members on board. Facing the risk of sinking, the captain requested the Border Guard force and relevant agencies to conduct an emergency rescue. Upon receiving the news, the Nghe An Border Guard Command directed the coastal border units to coordinate with local authorities to announce on the mass media about the case of fishing boat NA 90509 TS to come and support and search and rescue. At the same time, the CN 09 BP 06.19.01 ship and 15 officers and soldiers of the Border Guard Squadron 2 were urgently dispatched to carry out the search and rescue mission.

At around 1:00 a.m. on February 16, rescue ship CN 09 approached the fishing boat in distress and organized a tow, pulling the boat and bringing the crew back to the port of Squadron 2.

The Provincial Flood and Storm Prevention Office and the Nghe An Border Guard Command presented gifts to encourage officers and soldiers of the rescue ship who had just completed their mission and returned to the mainland.

Immediately after the ship safely reached shore, leaders of the Provincial Flood and Storm Prevention Command Office, the Provincial Border Guard Command, Hoang Mai town, Quynh Phuong Border Post... gave gifts to encourage fishermen and officers and soldiers of ship CN 09 BP 06.19.01 to safely return the ship in distress.
