Former US Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein announced on December 3 that she was withdrawing her request for a recount of election votes in Pennsylvania.

Ms. Stein approved the decision after the local court ordered her to post a $1 million deposit. Ms. Stein called the court's decision "outrageous."

"The Court's requirement that voters pay such a huge sum is an insurmountable barrier to the democratic process. It is yet another sign that Pennsylvania's outdated election laws are stacked against voters," the former US presidential candidate said in her statement.

It is known that Ms. Stein plans to hold a press conference in New York on December 5 at the residence of newly elected US President Donald Trump, the Trump Tower./.
