Over 660 hectares of spring rice have been infected with rice blast disease.
(Baonghean.vn) -Currently, 87,240 hectares of spring rice in Nghe An province are in the tillering - late tillering period. According to information from the Plant Protection Department, rice blast disease has now broken out and caused damage in most rice-growing districts in the province.
The total infected area has increased to 662.8 hectares (Nghi Loc 292.3 hectares, Vinh City 250.8 hectares, Hung Nguyen 83.2 hectares, Nam Dan 27.2 hectares, Yen Thanh 0.5 hectares, Thanh Chuong 1.3 hectares), of which 62.2 hectares are heavily infected and 5.04 hectares have been burned (Nghi Loc 2.5 hectares and Vinh City 2.54 hectares) with a common damage rate of 5 - 7%, high places 15 - 30%, locally 50 - 75%. The disease is mainly concentrated on varieties such as Xi 23, NX 30, TL6, BC 15, AC 5, ....
Up to now, the whole province has sprayed about 641.3 hectares to prevent and control the disease and currently there are still 434.3 hectares infected with the disease that need to be directed to spray. In the coming time, the disease is likely to continue to spread widely. Localities need to strengthen the investigation and detection of the disease in the fields, instructing people to strictly implement prevention and control measures according to the instructions of the Plant Protection Department. Absolutely do not use foliar fertilizers on fields where the disease is spreading and causing harm.
