Diversified forms of support for disadvantaged people

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 16, comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee held a working session with the Provincial Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans on the results of the Association's activities in the first 8 months of 2014 and tasks in the coming time.

Comrade Le Xuan Dai chaired the meeting.

With the establishment of 9 programs of activities, including some notable programs such as: Livelihood support; Granting scholarships and bicycles to students with disabilities and orphans who are studious; Surgery and rehabilitation; helping patients with disabilities and orphans who are in special difficulty;... in the past time, the Provincial Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans has coordinated well in propaganda work to raise awareness and attract social attention to people with disabilities and orphans.

From 2011 to June 2014, 35,086,940,283 VND were mobilized to support and care for people with disabilities and orphans in the province. Up to now, 11/21 districts and towns have organized associations for the protection of people with disabilities and orphans. At the meeting, comrade Le Xuan Dai acknowledged the results achieved by the Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans in the province in the past time, and at the same time requested relevant departments and branches to continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for the Association to contribute to the protection of people with disabilities and orphans in the area.
