Da Nang affirms safe sea water
Along with announcing the results of seawater quality analysis taken from 4 districts, Da Nang authorities affirmed that the seawater "ensures the requirements" for serving the purpose of water sports and entertainment.

Afternoon of April 28, Mr.Dang Quang Vinh, Head of the Environmental Protection Department (under the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Da Nang) reported the results of the test and analysis of water quality samples along the Da Nang coast to the city leaders.
According to Mr. Vinh, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has conducted field inspections and taken seawater samples about 100 meters from shore, at beaches, wharves, and river mouths of all four coastal districts: Ngu Hanh Son, Son Tra, Thanh Khe, and Lien Chieu.
The results of water sample analysis show that, compared with the limit values of water quality parameters,In coastal waters, beach areas, and water sports according to Vietnamese standards, parameters such as pH, DO (dissolved oxygen in water), TSS (total suspended solids), NH4+ N (Ammonium), Cr6+ (Chromium 6), Pb (Lead), Hg (Mercury), CN- (Cyanide) are all within the allowable limits.

The Center for Environmental Engineering is assigned to continue to collect samples for seawater quality analysis and develop a plan for biological monitoring of seawater quality for the next 30 days, published every two days on the website of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Center for Environmental Engineering from April 28. Accordingly, in addition to chemical methods, the Center willIt samples water in the bay and offshore of Da Nang for fish farming and publishes results daily.
Speaking to VnExpress, Mr. Nguyen Tu, Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Quality Management in Da Nang, said that in recent days, he has assigned an officer to coordinate with the Tho Quang Fishing Port Management Board to monitor fishing boats in areas where fish are dying, as well as cars of traders transporting fish, in order to prevent the smuggling of dead fish from outside into Da Nang.
"Because there are no machines, monitoring is done by senses and by sight. The actual psychology of people is to reduce eating sea fish because of anxiety. Regular monitoring also helps to reassure people," said Mr. Tu, adding that he will regularly monitor information about seawater sources to prevent poor quality seafood from entering consumers' kitchens.
Earlier on the afternoon of April 27, Da Nang issued a notice that "17 dead fish washed ashore", when there was information that mass fish deaths had spread to Da Nang. Authorities immediately took seawater samples for analysis.
According to VnExpress, dead fish have been found on Da Nang beaches, but they are scattered, sometimes only a few kilometers away from a dead fish. In recent days, tourists and locals have been swimming normally.
