Afternoon of April 28, Mr.Dang Quang Vinh, Head of the Environmental Protection Department (under the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Da Nang) reported the results of the test and analysis of water quality samples along the Da Nang coast to the city leaders.

According to Mr. Vinh, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has conducted field inspections and taken seawater samples about 100 meters from shore, at beaches, wharves, and river mouths of all four coastal districts: Ngu Hanh Son, Son Tra, Thanh Khe, and Lien Chieu.

The results of water sample analysis show that, compared with the limit values ​​of water quality parameters,In coastal waters, beach areas, and water sports according to Vietnamese standards, parameters such as pH, DO (dissolved oxygen in water), TSS (total suspended solids), NH4+ N (Ammonium), Cr6+ (Chromium 6), Pb (Lead), Hg (Mercury), CN- (Cyanide) are all within the allowable limits.

Regular monitoring also helps to reassure people," said Mr. Tu, adding that he will regularly monitor information about seawater sources to prevent poor quality seafood from entering consumers' kitchens.

Earlier on the afternoon of April 27, Da Nang issued a notice that "17 dead fish washed ashore", when there was information that mass fish deaths had spread to Da Nang. Authorities immediately took seawater samples for analysis.
