Roads to 4 villages isolated by flash floods in Tuong Duong have been opened.
By the afternoon of October 1, the roads to four villages isolated by flash floods in Luong Minh commune (Tuong Duong) were cleared.
With the active participation of functional forces of Tuong Duong district, especially the district's functional departments and offices closely following the scene and giving thorough direction, by the afternoon of October 1, the roads to 4 villages isolated by flash floods in Luong Minh commune (Tuong Duong) were cleared.
However, due to the large number of landslides on the route, many of which are severe, repairs are temporary, and most of the route is only accessible by motorbikes.
“The machines and 4 forces on site worked through lunch, working hard from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to clear the mass of earth and rock to one side of the road. However, cars are still restricted from traveling, only motorbikes can move freely,” said Mr. Lo Van Thanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Head of the Flood and Storm Prevention Steering Committee of Tuong Duong district.
The reopening of the road makes it easier for authorities to support people in overcoming the consequences of flash floods; villages are no longer isolated, so people can feel more secure about ensuring food and provisions.
However, at this time, in Luong Minh, it is still raining, the river and stream water is rising, threatening many weak roads. People traveling through here must be very careful.
