At around 7:00 p.m. on April 30, a representative of the 370th Air Division said that this afternoon, the special forces found the body of pilot Nguyen Anh Tu in the Su 22M4 plane crash on April 16 in the Phu Quy island area (Binh Thuan).

Immediately afterwards, the body of pilot Nguyen Anh Tu was brought back to Ho Chi Minh City by rescue helicopter of Air Force Regiment 917.

Thus, both dead pilots were found after nearly half a month of searching efforts by units of the air force, navy, coast guard, border guards, and special forces...

Previously, after finding the body of pilot Le Van Nghia, the water commando force of the 5th Special Forces Brigade (Special Forces Corps) expanded the search area to a radius of 200m around the area where the body of pilot Le Van Nghia was found. The search efforts of the rescue units were finally rewarded.

Currently, the body of pilot Nguyen Anh Tu is being preserved at Military Hospital 175 (HCMC). It is expected that on May 3, the Air Defense - Air Force, Air Division 370, Air Regiment 937 will hold a memorial service for the two pilots. Finding the bodies of both pilots, organizing the memorial service and burial is a great encouragement and consolation for the family.

As reported, at 11:45 a.m. on April 16, two Su 22M4 aircraft of the 937th Air Regiment, belonging to the 370th Air Division (Air Defense - Air Force) were flying an attack and crashed in the sea area of ​​Phu Quy island, Binh Thuan.

Lieutenant Colonel pilot Le Van Nghia, Deputy Commander of the Military Regiment, piloting Su 22M4 aircraft, serial number 5857, and Captain pilot Nguyen Anh Tu, Deputy Squadron Commander of Squadron 1, piloting Su 22M4 aircraft, serial number 5863, were killed.
