Delegates from Laos, Cambodia and Cuba visit Vietnam and attend the national reunification celebration.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung today received high-ranking delegations from Laos, Cambodia and Cuba, on the occasion of the delegations' visit to attend the 40th anniversary of national reunification.

The Lao delegation was led by Mr. Bounnhang Vorachith, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Vice President of Laos. The Cambodian delegation was led by Ms. Men Xom On, Standing member of the Cambodian People's Party, Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia. The Cuban delegation was headed by Mr. José Ramón Balaguer, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Cuban Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Commission.

At the reception at the Reunification Hall in Ho Chi Minh City, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, on behalf of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, warmly welcomed and highly appreciated the high-ranking delegations of Laos, Cambodia and Cuba who came to celebrate with the Vietnamese people the 40th anniversary of national reunification, bringing to the Vietnamese people the friendship and solidarity of the leaders and people of Laos, Cambodia and Cuba.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung emphasized that the historic victory of April 30, 1975 of the Vietnamese people was inseparable from the great support and assistance of socialist countries, the people of the Soviet Union, China, Laos, Cambodia, Cuba and international friends. The Party, State and people of Vietnam will never forget the wholehearted support and assistance of fraternal countries; affirming that Vietnam always gives top priority to consolidating and developing the good friendship and cooperation with Laos, Cambodia and Cuba.

The heads of the delegations from Laos, Cambodia and Cuba all expressed their joy and honor to attend the 40th anniversary celebration. The State and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front emphasized that the victory of great historical significance was not only the victory of the Vietnamese people but also the victory of the people of Laos, Cambodia, Cuba and the whole of humanity.

Lao Vice President Bounnhang Vorachith expressed his deep gratitude to the Party, State, army and people of Vietnam for always providing wholehearted, great and effective support and assistance to the Lao people in the past struggle for national liberation as well as in the current cause of national construction and development.

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Men Xom On, on behalf of the Cambodian People's Party, the Royal Government and the Cambodian people, expressed his deepest gratitude to the Party, State, army and people of Vietnam for helping the Cambodian people escape the disaster of genocide; affirmed that without the help and sacrifice of the blood of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers, Cambodia would not exist today and Cambodia and Vietnam would not have had the conditions to consolidate and develop the friendship and solidarity between the two brotherly nations.

Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Balaguer affirmed that Cuba and Vietnam are two brotherly countries with a special solidarity relationship and many similarities in the arduous and sacrificial struggle for national independence. That special solidarity relationship is a priceless asset that we need to preserve and pass on to future generations.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the heads of the delegations from Laos, Cambodia and Cuba agreed to continuously foster, consolidate and develop the good traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam - Laos, Vietnam - Cambodia and Vietnam - Cuba, for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
