Questioning in the field of information and communication, delegate of Nghe An Delegation Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee highly appreciated the efforts of the industry with many remarkable results.

In particular, delegates appreciated the breakthrough results in working with cross-border social networks such as Facebook, Google, and TikTok to require them to comply with Vietnamese laws.

The Ministry of Information and Communications has also issued a Code of Conduct on social networks and a handbook for users on identifying and handling fake information.

However, according to delegate Vo Thi Minh Sinh, currently there are many organizations and agencies in the political system that have Fanpages on Facebook and effectively promote and interact with people, but have not been granted official accounts.

“What solutions will the Ministry have to support, orient and legitimize these pages to ensure safety, avoid risks, loss of control over page operations, as well as increase the responsibility of these pages towards society?”, a delegate of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An asked.

Responding to questions, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung said: Currently, many organizations in the political system have a page on social networks and there is a desire for that page to be official and through that official page to convey information to the general public and demonstrate the prestige of that page.

Currently, some social networking platforms already support this function such as Facebook's "blue tick"... but not most social networks have this function.

The Ministry will also institutionalize this in a decree expected to be issued in the fourth quarter of 2023.”
