Russian representative to the United Nations warns of serious consequences if the US attacks Iran
Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations said that the US had opened a "Pandora's box" by attacking Iran, warning of serious consequences.

According to RIA Novosti, Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya spoke at a Security Council meeting dedicated to attacks on Iran's nuclear infrastructure. Accordingly, the diplomat condemned Washington's move, pointing out its danger for the region and the whole world.
"With its actions, the United States has opened a Pandora's box and no one knows what new consequences this may lead to," said Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations.
According to Mr. Nebenzia, Russia strongly condemns Washington's irresponsible, dangerous and provocative actions. The United States has once again shown its complete disregard for the position of the international community. Mr. Nebenzia said that Washington is ready to put the security and well-being of all humanity at risk for the sake of its ally Israel; and if the escalation of the conflict is not prevented, the entire world could find itself on the brink of nuclear catastrophe.
The US is completely unconcerned about the consequences or the threat to civilian lives, the Russian diplomat said. While Russia had previously offered the US a mediation role on the Iran issue, Washington "clearly does not need diplomacy at the moment." The US strikes on Iran are a major blow to the global nuclear non-proliferation regime.
"The United States is asserting that in order to maintain its hegemony in the world, it is ready to commit any crimes and violate international law. I want to remind you that no one will allow the United States to carry out such actions," Mr. Nebenzya said at the United Nations.
In Moscow's view, Iran has the right to develop a nuclear program for peaceful purposes.
