Vietnamese representative had an incident before the talent competition at Miss World
Before the talent competition, the Vietnamese representative unexpectedly had an accident with the monochord, forcing her to replace it with a folk dance performance.
On November 27, the contestants of the Miss World 2016 pageant entered the first round of the competition – Miss Talent. According to the rules, the contestants must demonstrate their abilities such as dancing, singing, playing musical instruments, or special abilities (not including poetry, painting, acting or monologue).
Before her departure, Dieu Ngoc plans to perform a monochord performance. She wants to bring a completely new flavor compared to other representatives in international beauty contests.
However, at the last minute, the string of the instrument broke, forcing Dieu Ngoc to replace it with a contemporary folk dance performance choreographed by Pham Lich. This was a backup plan that the Ao Dai beauty queen had prepared in advance.

In the Miss Talent contest, the beauties were divided into groups to compete. The Vietnamese representative was the last contestant in group 1. Dieu Ngoc said the organizers agreed to let her perform the entire performance. At the end of the contest, Ms. Julia Morley, president of the Miss World organization, praised the Vietnamese representative.
After the talent show, the contestants had a video recording session, introducing themselves for about 60 seconds. Dieu Ngoc said she is very confident to continue participating in other journeys of the competition.
Miss World 2016 was held in Washington DC, USA with more than 130 contestants from participating countries. This year, Miss World was held for the 66th time in the US. The reigning Miss World is the Spanish beauty - Mireia Lalaguna.
