Harvard University organizes conference on Nguyen Dynasty
On May 11 and 12, the Asian Research Institute at Harvard University organized a conference on the Nguyen Dynasty titled “Nguyen Vietnam 1558-1885, Domestic Issues.”

Dr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, said this was the second conference on the Nguyen Dynasty, after the first conference held in Hong Kong in 2012, but it was the first conference by Harvard University on the last monarchy in Vietnam.
The conference was attended by 20 scholars from many countries such as the US, France, UK, Australia and Vietnam, including famous Vietnam scholars such as Alexander Woodside, Liam C Kelley, John Whitmore, Michele Thompson, Phillippe Papin, Andrew Hardy, Van Phu Quang (professor at Yale University, USA), Ho Tai Hue Tam (professor at Harvard University).
At the conference, the papers assessed the role of the Nguyen Lord period in the development history of Vietnam, the relationship between the Nguyen Dynasty and countries in the region, land and land issues under the Nguyen Dynasty, and the value of the Nguyen Dynasty's documentary heritage.
All these papers will be edited and published as scientific reports by the Asian Research Institute of Harvard University./.
