Congress for the Protection of the Disabled and Orphans, Session V

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 26, the Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans of Vinh City held its 5th term Congress (2014 - 2019).

Mr. Dau Quang Hai took on the role of Chairman of the Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Orphans of Vinh City for the new term.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Mr. Phan Khuyen - Chairman of the Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans of Vinh City reported on the activities of the IV term - (2008 - 2014): In the past term, the total revenue in 5 years was over 2 billion VND, of which the local budget was 17%, mobilized from the people reached 38%, 45% was from businesses and philanthropists. Regarding sponsorship activities: The Association has converted over 350 wheelchairs, issued nearly 200 new ones for people with disabilities. In 5 years, it has provided free medical examination and medicine to over 3,500 people with a total amount of over 300 million VND... This is the core activity of the Association, aiming to support and contribute with the State to implement social security policies, creating conditions to help people with disabilities and orphans who are a part of the community suffering from many disadvantages and difficulties, helping them to be confident and rise up in life.

After the report of the Executive Committee of the previous term, the Association proceeded to elect a new Executive Committee and introduce the new Executive Committee for the term 2014-2019, with 37 members. In this term V, Mr. Dau Quang Hai, former permanent vice president of the association, was elected to the Executive Committee and the Inspection Committee of the Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Orphans of Vinh City.

On this occasion, the association awarded collectives and individuals with achievements in the past term.
