The 18th Congress of Nghe An Education Trade Union, term 2012-2017
(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, December 19, Nghe An Education Trade Union held the 18th Congress, term 2012-2017.
Attending the Congress were representatives of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, the Education Trade Unions of Ha Tinh and Thanh Hoa provinces, the Provincial Labor Federation and 194 delegates from grassroots trade unions.
During the past term, the Nghe An Education Trade Union organized a survey on the regime, policies, jobs and living conditions of union members of the sector; coordinated with experts and advised the People's Committees of districts to pay preferential allowances to 2,135 primary school teachers with an amount of over 21 billion VND; 5,664 contract preschool teachers were recruited into the payroll; over 8,300 cadres, teachers and workers (CBGVLĐ) received training to improve their qualifications. Over the past 5 years, 7 school units have been granted certificates of recognition as Cultural Units by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; annually over 95% of families of CBGVLĐ are recognized as Cultural Families; 1,150 union members are introduced to join the Party.
The movement of “Emulation in creative labor and scientific research” among teachers and employees continues to be promoted. In 5 years, the whole industry has 5,038 scientific research projects of type A and B; 35 projects have won prizes; the “Educational Talent Development Fund” has been effectively maintained for 24 teachers with exemplary moral qualities and excellent pedagogical talents.
In addition, the campaigns "Each teacher is a model of morality, self-study and creativity", "Supporting education in mountainous, remote and extremely disadvantaged areas" were actively responded to by union members, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning in schools.
Dr. Pham Van Thanh, Vice President of Vietnam Education Trade Union, spoke.
Speaking at the Congress, Dr. Pham Van Thanh - Vice President of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, emphasized: In the coming term, with the slogan of action "Innovating trade union activities for the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers, for the sustainable development of the homeland", the Provincial Education Trade Union needs to pay more attention to the lives of workers in the sector; create conditions for union members to study and improve their qualifications; organize patriotic emulation movements well and have a timely reward system. Regarding the recommendations and proposals of union members, the Trade Union will consider and advise the Ministry of Education and Training and related sectors to propose positive solutions.
Awarding the excellent emulation flag of the Provincial People's Committee to the provincial Education sector trade union
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag to the Nghe An Education Trade Union.
The Congress elected 21 delegates to the new term Trade Union Executive Committee; 19 delegates to attend the Provincial Federation of Labor Congress and 3 delegates to attend the Vietnam Education Trade Union.
