The 2nd Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Quy Hop District
(Baonghean.vn) - In 2 days (July 10 and 11), the People's Committee of Quy Hop district organized the 2nd Congress of Ethnic Minorities in 2014.
Over the past 5 years, ethnic minorities in Quy Hop district have overcome many difficulties and challenges and achieved many remarkable results: economic structure has developed quite well; average income per capita reached 24 million VND/year; annually creating jobs for 3,500 to 4,000 local workers; the poverty rate has decreased to 20%.
In the 2014 - 2019 term, Quy Hop district strives for an average income per capita of over 73 million VND/year; a 2% reduction in poor households each year; a natural population growth rate of 1%; striving for an increase in forest coverage from 58% to 60%; maintaining national cultural identity values...
The congress elected 27 delegates to attend the provincial congress of ethnic minorities. On this occasion, the People's Committee of Quy Hop district awarded certificates of merit to 13 groups and 22 individuals who have made many contributions to ethnic minority affairs.
