Congress of Delegates of Quy Chau Farmers' Association, term 2012-2017

(Baonghean.vn) -On December 24 and 25, the Farmers' Association of Quy Chau district held the 10th Congress of the Farmers' Association of the district, term 2012-2017. Attending the Congress were 101 official delegates representing 9,388 farmer members in the district.

During the past term, the work of the Association and the farmers' movement in Quy Chau district continued to achieve many results in many fields, making important contributions to the process of shifting the agricultural economic structure and the labor structure in rural areas, gradually creating specialized production areas for agricultural products to serve the processing industry, creating more new jobs for rural workers. The Association attracted 2,366 new members, bringing the total number of members in the district to 9,388, an increase of 11.5% compared to the beginning of the term. Major emulation movements launched by the Central Association and service activities to support farmers in economic development, poverty reduction and legitimate enrichment were effectively organized and implemented by the Associations at all levels, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the district.

With the theme “Solidarity, innovation, proactiveness, creativity, sustainable development”, the Congress continued to determine the direction for the 2012-2017 term, which is to build a strong Association to play the central and core role of the farmers’ movement and the new rural construction. The Congress elected 21 members of the Executive Committee for the 2012-2017 term, and elected 6 delegates to attend the 8th Congress of the Farmers’ Association of Nghe An province, term 2013-2018. Comrade Lo Thanh Ly - former Vice Chairman of the District Farmers’ Association was elected by the Congress to hold the position of Chairman of the Quy Chau District Farmers’ Association, term X, term 2012-2017.
