(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 6, Nghe An College of Tourism and Commerce solemnly held the 5th Congress of Delegates, term 2015-2020.

Attending the congress were representatives of the City Party Committee, Committee and departments of Cua Lo Town; representatives of Universities associated with the school and Party members in the Party Committee.

In the 2010-2015 term, under the leadership of the Party Committee, Nghe An College of Tourism and Commerce has successfully completed its tasks, achieving and exceeding the set targets. Of which, long-term training enrollment for 6,447/6,195 students, reaching 104% of the plan, short-term and regular training for 10,927/9,000 students, reaching 121% of the plan; joint training for 1,250 students. The annual graduation rate reached 100%. Notably, after graduating from school, more than 90% of students have stable jobs.

With the results achieved in the past term, Nghe An College of Tourism and Commerce was honored to receive the Second Class Labor Medal from the President; was one of 40 schools approved by the Government for the "Project on developing high-quality vocational schools by 2020", the Principal was honored as one of 100 good managers of ASEAN...

Every year, through many measures and policies, the school has created conditions for staff and lecturers to participate in short-term and long-term training courses at home and abroad, improving their qualifications in all aspects. Therefore, the staff and lecturers have gradually standardized, meeting the training requirements of high-quality vocational schools. Up to now, the school's staff has 165 people (PhD 03, PhD students: 03; Master: 64; University, experts, artisans, high-level workers: 53; College, other levels: 22). The school focuses on recruitment, appointment, and reappointment of quality and professional qualifications in the right profession. In addition, scientific research has had clear changes: In the past 5 years, the school has accepted 15 topics and experience initiatives, and is implementing research on 01 provincial-level topic.

During the past term, the Party Committee paid attention to the work of building and consolidating the Party organization in the Party cells, improving the quality of Party cell activities, and implementing well the principle of democratic centralism in the Party. The Party Committee coordinated with the Center for Political Training to organize 04 Party target classes for cadres, teachers, and students with 336 comrades and admitted 86/50 comrades to the Party, reaching 172% compared to the Congress Resolution. Through the annual classification of Party member quality, the completion and good completion rates were all 100%. Continuously from 2010 to 2014, the Party Committee achieved clean and strong status and 04 Party cells and 07 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the City Party Committee.

At the congress, delegates focused on discussing solutions to continue improving the quality of party building and vocational training in the new period, career orientation for students, and good coordination with businesses to create output for students after graduation....

Speaking at the congress, comrade Doan Tien Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Town Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Lo Town highly agreed with the draft political report of the Party Committee submitted to the congress, and emphasized that in the coming term, Nghe An College of Tourism and Commerce needs to have a specific plan to build a practical University; improve the quality of staff and lecturers; invest in modern practice facilities, grasp the challenges and opportunities in the coming period.
