Thai Son Commune Party Congress (Do Luong): Building sustainable new rural areas

(Baonghean) - In the 2010 - 2015 term, Thai Son commune (Do Luong) with its own way of doing things, suitable to reality, has achieved many results in socio-economic development, people's lives have been increasingly improved and enhanced. This is also a "stepping stone" for Thai Son to strive to become a civilized, prosperous and beautiful new rural commune in the coming time.

During the past term, in economic development, Thai Son paid special attention to land consolidation and plot exchange, improving the efficiency of land management, from 6 plots/household to 1.73 plots/household; multi-function plows, combine harvesters, small cars to the fields to serve production and harvesting; the commune has the conditions to structure over 70% of high-quality seeds for over 410 hectares of rice. At the same time, effectively promoting 65 hectares of commercial fish farming intercropped with rice, fish output reaching 90 - 95 tons/year.

The commune also mobilizes households and businesses to build economic development models in inefficient areas. Coming to the industrial mushroom production facility of Thai Hong Company, Mr. Hoang Van Duong - Director of the company said: With a total investment of over 2.5 billion VND, the facility has a campus area of ​​nearly 6,000 m2, the mushroom production area is 1,000 m2, all are invested in machinery, synchronous and closed technology, so the quality of mushroom products is good, the output market is quite stable, the expected revenue is from 700 - 800 million VND/year. In Thai Son, there are also many households accumulating land, developing fish - rice farm models for high income such as Mr. Nguyen Quang Bang's household in hamlet 10, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hong's household in hamlet 8...

The commune focuses on developing services and trade, continuing to develop and successfully build a carpentry village in hamlet 7. At the beginning of the term, there were only over 78 business households, but by 2014, there were over 117 business households providing commercial services, creating jobs for hundreds of workers. The total value of commercial services increased from 57.89 billion VND in 2010 to 105.8 billion VND in 2014.

In the field of new rural construction, the commune focused the strength of the political system on the work, achieving good results; mobilizing over 54.5 billion VND, of which people contributed over 8.5 billion VND from the commune to the hamlet, attracting support capital from all levels of over 32 billion VND, the rest was support from children far from home... In addition, people also contributed 2,475 working days, donated 295,292 m2 of land (converted to: 11.81 billion VND). Of the 36 large and small projects built, 2 reservoirs of Yen Trach and Long Thai were upgraded, 6 km of level 3 canals were built; 7 km of concrete and asphalt roads were renovated and upgraded (funds contributed by people accounted for 50%); the commune health station was upgraded, a new multi-functional cultural house was built (meeting new rural standards); 2 more power transformer stations were built, meeting the people's electricity needs...

Thanks to the investment in building many welfare works, the rural appearance of Thai Son has improved a lot, promoting the quality of life of the people. By the end of 2014, Thai Son achieved 14/19 NTM criteria, striving to complete the remaining 5 criteria in 2015 so that the commune can be recognized as meeting new rural standards. The cultural and educational fields have many positive changes, the whole commune has 79.5% of cultural families, 2 hamlets, 10 clans, 4 agencies and units meeting cultural standards. 11/12 cultural houses and hamlet sports areas have met standards, recognized by the district as having standard cultural and information institutions in 2014. Regarding the quality of teaching, the number of excellent teachers, excellent students and children entering universities and colleges has increased every year. The poverty rate has decreased from 23% in 2010 to 3.88% in 2015.

The commune People's Committee headquarters and multi-functional cultural house are built according to new rural standards.

Regarding the building of the political system, the Party Committee regularly maintains strict regulations on ideological activities, closely follows the grassroots, strengthens dialogue, listens to the thoughts, aspirations and recommendations of cadres, party members and people, explains and responds in a timely, democratic and objective manner. Proactively disseminates and implements policies and resolutions of the Party at all levels, maintains good implementation of projects on ideological work, creates consensus among cadres, party members and people...

Specifically, in the economic sector, strive for a total production value of 337.0 billion VND, total budget revenue of 10-11 billion VND, total food output of 3,900 - 4,000 tons, total herd of buffalo and cows of 1,700 - 1,750; herd of pigs of 6,000 - 6,500; herd of poultry of 75,000 - 76,000; total social construction investment capital by 2020 of 101.1 billion VND; by 2020, 80% of level 3 canals will be concreted, 80% of field roads will be hardened. Renovate inter-commune asphalt roads, inter-hamlet concrete roads of 8.5 - 9 km. Attract investment to build 16 new classrooms for kindergartens and primary schools. Upgrade and expand the Long Thai communal house historical - cultural relic complex. Build cultural houses in 12 hamlets. Complete the new rural criteria by 2015, improve the quality of achieved criteria to ensure sustainability.
