The First Congress of Nghe An Grassroots Football Association

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 17, in Vinh city, the First Congress of Nghe An Province's Amateur Football Association took place. Comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee attended and congratulated the Congress.

Nghe An Provincial Amateur Football Association was established under Decision No. 6498/QD-UBND dated November 20, 2014 of the Provincial People's Committee and is the first amateur football association established in the country. The association has legal status, its own headquarters, seal and account (headquartered at 101 Ly Thuong Kiet - Vinh City).

The principles of organization and operation of the Association are implemented according to Article 3 of Decree No. 45/2010/ND-CP dated April 21, 2010 of the Government and according to the provisions of the Association's Charter approved by competent state agencies, and at the same time subject to specialized state management of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and relevant units in the fields in which the Association operates.

Comrade Ho Duc Phoc attended and congratulated the Congress.

At the first launching ceremony, Nghe An Provincial Amateur Football Association stated that the purpose of the Association is to promote the movement of football training and competition, contribute to improving the quality of physical training, create favorable conditions for the selection of high-performance sports forces of the province to participate in national tournaments. At the same time, it contributes to promoting and encouraging the masses to participate in football training, improve cultural and spiritual life, serve the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. The operating budget is completely self-sufficient by the Association through contributions from members, some business and service activities according to the provisions of law and calling for sponsors.

Coach Huu Thang was invited to be the Honorary President of Nghe An Amateur Football Association.

Although newly established, Nghe An Amateur Football Association has attracted 16 amateur football clubs in the province to participate with the number of athletes up to nearly 200 people. In the coming time, the Association will continue to admit many new members, organizations and individuals who are Vietnamese citizens who agree with the Association's Charter and voluntarily apply to join will be considered for admission as official members.

At the First Congress, Nghe An Amateur Football Association elected an Executive Committee of 15 people, Mr. Nguyen Dam Van - Director of Van Minh Company Limited and also the "Boss" of Van Minh FC was elected as the President of the Association. All members of Nghe An Amateur Football Association unanimously agreed to honor former National Team player Coach Nguyen Huu Thang, former Head Coach of SLNA Football Team as the Honorary President of the Association. Coach Nguyen Huu Thang happily accepted and said that he is always ready to support in professional work as well as many other issues to help the Association operate effectively and develop more and more.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Ho Duc Phoc presented flowers to congratulate the Executive Committee of Nghe An Amateur Football Association. He believed that the Association would contribute to the further development of football in the province, while helping state management agencies better monitor amateur football activities in the area, creating a healthy and beneficial playground for all classes of people who love this sport.

To celebrate the success of the First Congress, on the afternoon of January 19, Nghe An Amateur Football Association will organize the opening of a football tournament at the Provincial Labor Culture House, with 16 of the strongest amateur football clubs in Vinh city participating in the competition, including many famous stars of SLNA such as Van Quyen, Huy Hoang, Lam Tan... and many young players currently playing for SLNA.
