The first Congress of the Association to Support Families of Martyrs in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) -On June 18, in Vinh City, the first Congress of all members of the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An Province (term 2014 - 2019) was solemnly held in the action atmosphere of "Repaying gratitude, remembering the source of drinking water".

More than 100 delegates representing mass organizations, religions, businesses, government, armed forces, Fatherland Front, individuals, and families of martyrs attended the congress.

Comrades: Lieutenant General Le Van Han - former Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended and spoke at the congress.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee delivered a congratulatory speech to the congress.

The Congress has absorbed the directions of the Central Committee and provincial leaders to focus on building a practical action program to ensure conditions for effective implementation of activities to support martyrs' families from now until 2019.

In the immediate future, it is necessary to focus on propaganda and mobilizing resources from the whole society to contribute to the fund to support the families of martyrs, improve the lives of the families of martyrs, monitor the implementation of the Party and State's policies and regimes for those who have contributed to the country; coordinate with functional agencies and sectors to search for information about martyrs, return names to martyrs through scientific bases; develop members and the association's organization system from the province to districts, cities and towns.

The Executive Committee of the Association introduced itself to the congress.

The Congress honored comrade Nguyen Ba - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee as Honorary Chairman of the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An. The Congress elected an Executive Committee consisting of 35 exemplary comrades, dedicated to the activity of "Repaying gratitude" and 11 comrades of the Standing Committee, the Inspection Committee. Comrade Ho Duc Thanh - former member of the Provincial Party Committee, former Director of the Department of Home Affairs was elected as Chairman of the Association; comrades Nguyen Thanh Phung, Bui Xuan Thinh, Nguyen Tien Hung were elected by the Executive Committee as Vice Chairmen of the Association for the 2014 - 2019 term. From the initial generous contributions of a business and the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Vietnam, the Congress presented savings books and wheelchairs to relatives and families of martyrs in difficult circumstances in Vinh City.
